The 2019 Le Cadeau Chardonnay is crisp, mineral-driven, with just a touch of oak – all in perfect balance – produced entirely from estate fruit grown in rocky volcanic basalt. Both the aromatic profile and palate complexity are developed through the vineyard-driven attributes of clonal diversity, soil diversity, and sunlight "aspect." The 2019 Chardonnay was aged 14 months in primarily neutral French oak barrels, with 5 additional months in stainless steel on lees, offering lovely aromatics, length, and acidity.
Wine Spectator's Tim Fish describes it in his 90-point review as "Impeccably dry and steely, with elegant citrus and pear flavors laced with stony minerality."
