2022 Le Cadeau Chardonnay

The 2022 Le Cadeau Chardonnay is crisp, mineral-driven, with just a touch of oak – all in perfect balance – produced entirely from fruit grown in rocky volcanic basalt. Harvested in October 2022, our estate-grown chardonnay grapes were carefully processed and fermented in stainless steel before being transferred to barrels. The wine aged for 10 months in neutral French oak, with an additional 2 months of aging in stainless steel on lees. Both the aromatic profile and palate complexity are developed through the vineyard-driven attributes of clonal diversity, soil diversity, and sunlight "aspect."

Awarded 92 points by Vinous: "The 2022 Chardonnay lifts from the glass with a flinty blend of yellow apples and dusty sage. It displays a pretty inner sweetness and crisp orchard fruits, taking on a crunchy salinity toward the close. A lemony concentration lingers as the 2022 finishes long and potent with an air of resonant inner florals. This is a beautifully balanced interpretation of Le Cadeau Chardonnay."
